Arlandia

The Great War that lasted one-hundred years, ended with the great powers attempting mass genocide on the other by destroying or poisoning whole planets. Peace was never declared. The war ended with the total destruction of every civilization. A tiny remnant of survivors from the Arlandian Empire managed to escape to their last remaining colony near the edge of the galaxy. Not knowing the state of the galaxy, they created a shield that hid them from passing ships and banned all space travel. They believed if they hid, they could avoid annihilation. Knowledge of the past was banned and forgotten. Only a secret group called the “Laurites” retained the true history of the Arlandians, and quietly worked in the shadows to develop technology that could one day protect them in case the planet was ever discovered. Cut off and in total isolation, the Arlandians have no idea what’s going on outside their world. They believe the galaxy is dead, including their closest allies, the Alerians, are dead and gone.

Over the next eighty years, the planet of New Arlandia has a paradise. There are no poor, no hungry, no war and no suffering. New Arlandia City, the capital of Arlandian civilization is a monument to wealth and prosperity. Tall glass covered skyscrapers, miles of transportations tubes that quickly carry its citizens wherever they want to go without pollution or traffic. Art, music, and literature have reached a level unparalleled at any time in history. Yet all that is about to change. A massive object lurks just outside the planetary system. New Arlandia, completely oblivious to it, is about to send it’s first manned ship into space for the first time in ten years, and is about to come face to face with a force it is totally unprepared to deal with.

Allies and close friends of the Arlandians during the Great War, they were completely destroyed by the Goremog Empire. There were rumors that some survived and may be struggling to survive somewhere in the galaxy.

Goremog

The Goremog believe the blackness of space is pure and it's is their destiny to protect it. They worship darkness. It is believed they descended from a human-like race. They fled persecution to create their own civilization, based on their religion and belief in their destiny to be the only existing race. Their war with the No'Rath led to a hundred years of conflict that engulfed the entire galaxy.
